About

Most translation tools treat Hindi as one language among hundreds. Everything is tuned for the average case, and Hindi inherits the compromises: cramped Devanagari rendering, a hard cap of a few thousand characters, and no idea what to do when someone types Hindi in English letters.

englishtohindi.online does one language pair and does it properly.

What is different

  • Whole documents, not paragraphs. Long text is split at sentence boundaries — never mid-sentence — translated, and reassembled with the original paragraph breaks intact.
  • Phrase pages that answer the real question. Not just “what is the Hindi word”, but which version a person would actually say: आप or तुम, and how the verb changes depending on who is speaking.
  • Devanagari is set in Mukta with extra line height, so matras and conjuncts have room to breathe.
  • Nothing to sign up for. No account, no tracking cookies, and your history stays in your own browser.

How it works

Translation is done by a large language model rather than a phrase table, which is why it can handle context, tone, and code-mixed input. Your text is sent for translation and the result is returned — nothing is written to a database. The translation history you see is stored in your own browser and never leaves it.

What is coming

Hinglish input — typing “aap kaise ho” in Roman letters and getting proper Devanagari back — along with selectable writing styles for formal and casual registers. Both are built and waiting on a translation engine that can handle them. After that: a virtual Devanagari keyboard, single-word dictionary lookups, and document translation. If one of those matters to you, say so — it moves up the list.
